What We Publish

At Wilson Road Publishing, we specialize in children’s books and family-centered fiction and non-fiction for readers under 18. Our categories include:

• Infant Books (ages 0-2): Pictures to 100 words
• Early Picture Books (ages 3-5): 200-500 words
• Standard Picture Books (ages 3-7): 500-1,000 words
• Picture Story Books (ages 4-8): 1,000-1,500 words
• First Chapter Books (ages 6-9): 3,000-10,000 words
• Chapter Books (ages 7-10): 10,000-15,000 words
• Middle Grade (ages 8-12): 20,000-50,000 words
• Upper Middle Grade (ages 10-14): 40,000-70,000 words
• Young Adult (YA) (ages 12-18): 50,000-100,000 words

Submission Requirements

• Format: Digital submissions only, in Word or PDF format.
• Content: We only accept family-friendly content. Submissions should be G-rated according to The Motion Picture Association film rating system. We do not accept anything that is not uplifting.
• Full Manuscript: Please submit the entire manuscript for our review. We do not accept partial submissions.

How to Submit

Please send your manuscript to our submissions email: submissions@wilsonroad.com. Include the following in the body of your email:

1. Your name and pen name (if applicable)
2. A brief introduction about yourself, your background, and your publishing history
3. The word count of your completed manuscript
4. A short description of your book (book blurb)
5. The target audience for your book
6. How your book benefits the reader
7. What makes your book different from others in the same genre
8. Any media access or reader reach you have that can help us market your book
9. Any specific marketing ideas you have for your book

Response Time

Our typical response time is 2 to 3 months. However, if you would like a quicker review, you can expedite our review process through our RapidReview service for $99. This does not guarantee acceptance but allows us to allocate additional resources to review your submission. If interested, please contact us via our contact page.

What We Offer

• Publishing Formats: We publish in paperback, hardcover, and digital formats.
• Advances: We offer advances to authors.
• Author Costs: Authors can choose to pay for additional services to receive a higher royalty, but it is not required.
• Marketing and Distribution: We specialize in marketing and handle all aspects of marketing and distribution, including partnerships with various distributors and agencies.

Policies

• Simultaneous Submissions: We accept simultaneous submissions and previously published works.
• AI Policy: Most of our competitors do not accept AI-generated work, but we recognize AI’s growing role in literature. We accept works that incorporate AI, provided you outline how AI was used and what percentage of your work it generated. According to U.S. copyright law, works created entirely by AI without human input are Public Domain and cannot be copyrighted. We do not accept works that lack any form of human intelligence in the creative process.
• Feedback on Rejected Submissions: Unfortunately, we do not provide feedback on rejected submissions.
